What makes a Web site popular? It is a question I ask myself every time I propose a new idea for a website. This article is to serve as a sort of a list of things that I find some help to make a site popular and increase traffic. After all, that is why we are sites? To be popular, make money, or maybe it just to have a hobby. I have been creating websites for several years now, reading books on php, mysql, graphic design, ergonomics, and I have yet to find a "be all" answer to have a good website . Fortunately, I am a natural born problem solver increased problem solving, and I have a unwaivering goes ... Most of the time.
So, to return to the question ... What makes a Web site popular?
The rest of the world likes it, there is a visible activity of other persons on the site.
In my mind, there is nothing that makes me want to leave a website to know more then it has little or no visitors. You have all seen, they have bodies responsible for categories, but there are no jobs, or they show click link counters reading in the high single-digit range. Unfortunately, you have to start somewhere, and most of the time, at the bottom of her, where users generally did not collect. If your site has little or no visitors attempted to hide that, as you can. Example: If you have a forum to go with only a small number of categories and concentrate all your messages in categories ... You can add later on when you get more posts happening.
Personality, shows the main content has a winning attitude.
Personality sells, turn on your TV and surf to your favorite show ... Why do you watch that? I bet it's because you like the main character. Ask yourself, what is so special about me? There must be something interesting, you can transmit about you. If not, do something.
Pushing against the tide, being an underdog, fighting "the man".
Remember that your child in class who would not only follow the rules ... I bet you do. Everyone loves a person to see the fighting system, in our blood, as the man to fight against the authority.
Consistency, the display on a regular basis, being unpredictable predictable.
This is probably the hardest thing to do, to be consistent. You have to stick to some kind of timetable, whether by day, once a week, once a month ... Just be consistent and your readers do not feel like they have been disappointed. I know from personal experience, if a site I slacked off at more than two consecutive terms, I was no longer there.
These are just a few of the things you can do to make a website popular. Treat your readers well, and they will return the favor.
